Issues

  1. The river in Harston is silting up – largely due to the state of the flood plain upstream of Harston
  2. Seasonal flows are increasing in variability – creating greater highs and lows than we have seen in the last 30 years
  3. Surplus water is run off and disappears to Denver Lock and then out to sea.
  4. There has been a loss of fauna activity and this needs to be recovered
  5. The expansion of Cambridge is causing further depletion of the chalk stream aquifer
